How this game helps

The quickest way to find any note on the piano is to stop counting up from C and read the black keys instead: groups of two and three, repeating all the way up the keyboard.

What Note? shows an unlabelled two-octave keyboard with one key marked. Use the black-key groups to work out which note it is, then tap its name. C sits just left of the two black keys, F just left of the three. Press Hear it to hear the note as well.

Start with Naturals (white keys only), move to Chromatic to add the sharps and flats, or pick Scale to practise just the notes of one key, such as C, G or F major. Once the keyboard map is automatic, reading music and learning chords both get much easier.
