How this game helps

Chord shapes get you strumming fast, but knowing the notes on the ukulele fretboard is what lets you pick out a melody, follow a song into a new key, and understand why a chord shape works.

What Note? sticks to the open strings (G C E A) and the first three frets — where nearly every beginner chord and tune lives. A marker lands on a string and fret; tap the note on the keyboard. Press Hear it to train your ear at the same time.

Start with Naturals (no sharps or flats), move to Chromatic when you're quick, or pick Scale to practise just the notes of one key, such as C, G or F major, the keys most ukulele songbooks use. A few minutes a day and the notes become automatic.
